Lifesaving
A top Surrey School for Lifesaving Awards

Pupils regularly take part in examinations leading to the award of Royal Life Saving Society certificates at all levels from Rookie through to Distinction.
These courses usually run for a term, and are structured in such a way that each pupil can find their own level of expertise.

Pupils who have excelled in the assessments they have gained are also given the opportunity to sit the Assistant Teachers award, which allows them to help in the training of other pupils. Stronger swimmers are encouraged to obtain the open water lifesaving awards, and in recent years the School has run NPLQ courses which allow pupils to gain a professional life guarding qualification which allows them to work in a Leisure Centre pool. Pupils who are less confident in the water can take awards with a greater emphasis on providing first aid and support a casualty who has already been brought out of the water.
