Dance and Aerobics are an integral part of the extra-curricular programme here at King Edward’s. Pupils are offered a range of disciplines which aim to develop co-ordination, balance and team work alongside improving fitness and general well-being. As well as being a regular part of the co-curriculum, other classes are also available for both pupils and members of the public, run by Dance Platform Academy (see their website, right, for further details).

Classes take place in a modern and spacious purpose-built dance studio complete with mirrored wall and a fully sprung, wooden floor. Aerobics remains the most popular class alongside Street Dance but pupils have also had the opportunity to learn and develop skills in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz & Zumba. Recent performances include an extract based on Riverdance in conjunction with the yearly Fashion Show in addition to a Street Dance performance for the Junior Christmas Celebrations.

Whether you wish to dance for enjoyment, to keep fit, or fulfil your dreams of becoming a dancer. Our aim is to inspire you to reach your potential and receive results of the highest possible standards, by providing you with a friendly, focused, and professional environment to learn.
