Canoeing in the pool and on the river
canoeing
The School has its own river and pool canoes which it uses to train pupils under the supervision of a BCU canoe instructor before venturing onto local rivers and estuaries.

This activity takes place indoors throughout the year, and outside in the summer when the weather warms up.

The School river canoes were used as part of the Lord Mayor's Challenge this summer, when a group of pupils and staff canoed 22 miles along the River Wey from Weybridge to Godalming.  This was a long, slow and arduous journey and the kayaks had to be lifted out of the water and carried through lock gates no less than fourteen times. The group was also paddling upstream against a slight current.  However with the excellent support by staff (accompanied by copious cups of tea, bacon sandwiches, snacks and TLC) the team kept paddling and singing non-stop for most of the last 5 miles.
