Students from over 30 countries come to King Edward's for many reasons ...

They may want to experience life away from home in preparation for university, encounter a new way of life and develop an open mind, simply perfect their language skills or follow the International Baccalaureate.

We hope they will leave us having achieved and contributed more than they could ever have expected. We truly value the contribution that our international pupils make and celebrate the richness of experience and different perspectives that they offer to the School as a whole.

Pupils come to us from over 30 countries and make up around 25% of the School pupil body. They can join us at 11+, 13+ or 16+, although we will consider entry at other ages. We know what a challenge it is to arrive at a new school in a new country and we do all we can to help them settle in, make friends and feel at home. They will join the same boarding houses as English students so have plenty of opportunity to become fluent in English. Equally, they are encouraged to take part in and benefit from all that life here has to offer.

Staff are on hand seven days a week to help with studies and to organise social events, sporting activities, music, drama and much more. As well as improving academic ability, there are fantastic opportunities to develop as a person and make friends with other students from all over the world.

Our overseas pupils are highly motivated, do well academically and socially and go on to study at the top universities in the UK and abroad.
