Chapel
"A place to lodge Christ in"

The Christian faith on which the School was founded as `a place to lodge Christ in`, continues to be at the heart of our moral and spiritual life.
We welcome pupils of all faiths and none and strive to offer an environment which will inform, challenge and encourage pupils on their spiritual journeys. To this end all pupils are expected to attend chapel during the week and all boarders on Sundays.
The chapel is at the heart of the school and services are normally held at the start of the day on Wednesdays and Fridays. Services are led by the Chaplain and Assistant Chaplains, members of staff and with regular contributions by our students. We also have visiting speakers from time to time. Junior Chapel takes place on a Friday and is more contemporary and informal in style. On Sundays our services are broadly in keeping with the liturgical tradition of the Church of England and there are a number of special services to which parents are warmly invited, including Remembrance Day and Carol Services.
Our Assistant Director of Music, Ted Moore, overseas our talented Chapel Choir, who as well as leading school worship, are regularly invited to perform at other venues, including St Paul’s Cathedral.
It is our aim to make Chapel a place of both contemplation and challenge, a place where young people are engaged with Christian teaching and values in culturally relevant ways.
