The Sixth Form at King Edward's aims to provide a stepping stone from being at school to university life and a springboard to further education and the world of work.

Since September 2010, the IB has been the sole Sixth Form Curriculum, providing the best possible preparation for university and the world of work.  We are looking for people who are independent learners, reflective and keen to take responsibility for themselves and others, and have fun along the way. 

The Sixth Form at King Edward’s is co-educational with an equal split between girls and boys. Though most of our students are British nationals, we also have a sizeable number from overseas. This makes for a great atmosphere and the exchange of ideas, knowledge and cultural experiences is a benefit to all. The majority of students are boarders and live in practical and comfortable boarding houses on site. A student whose family lives locally may choose to be a day pupil, though there are options to stay overnight at King Edward’s on special occasions.
