The International Baccalaureate has been taught at King Edward's since 2004 and is the sole curriculum in the Sixth Form.

This course provides a genuine breadth of study beyond 16 so that students can continue to enjoy a range of subjects and to keep their options open a little longer. All students take their own language, a foreign language, a humanity, a science, Mathematics and an arts based subject or a second subject of their own choice from the other curriculum areas. In most subjects Standard and Higher Level pupils are taught in the same group, with additional periods for the Higher level pupils. Mathematics however is taught in separate groups for Higher, Standard and Mathematics Studies.

The IB is the best Sixth Form programme available in the United Kingdom, providing not only subject knowledge but also a skills set essential for the 21st century.
