Job Description

Join Our Team as a Grounds Assistant!

Are you a wizard with a mower? Can you make a tractor dance? Or maybe you just know your way around a hedge trimmer and fancy working somewhere with stunning views and the odd cheeky fox on patrol?

We’re on the lookout for a Grounds Assistant to join our amazing Estates Grounds team and keep King Edward’s Witley, Barrow Hills School and Longacre School looking sharp.

Hours: Full-time (40 hours a week, 7.30am – 4pm, Monday to Friday – but let’s be honest, the grass doesn’t mow itself, so occasional early mornings, evening or weekends might pop up during term time).

Perks: School-provided lunches (no soggy sandwiches here!), and the satisfaction of keeping our grounds tip-top, free on-site parking and use of our schools’ gym and pool facilities.

Location: King Edward’s Witley, Barrow Hills School and Longacre School

King Edward’s Witley is a co-educational boarding and day 11-18 school for some 470 pupils, around 30% of whom are full boarders. We are an HMC school and proud of our unique heritage and place among British co-educational independent schools.

Barrow Hills School is a co-educational 2-13 years prep school, offering academic success within a balanced and generous education. We have a strong ethos built on our values of compassion, curiosity and connection, and we are proud to be widely recognised as a welcoming community with a warm, family atmosphere.

Longacre School is a thriving, co-educational preparatory school for boys and girls aged 2 to 11 years. Set in a beautiful rural location on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Shamley Green, between Guildford and Cranleigh, the school offers a wonderful environment for young children.
