The doors of the Bunker Gallery were recently opened to our latest art exhibition showcasing the work of GCSE, IB and A-level pupils. The exhibition celebrates the diverse talents of our pupils and provides an opportunity for friends and teachers to enjoy the work. This vibrant and accomplished exhibition includes work in the mediums of fine art, photography, and ceramics.
The show opened on the 17th of June for a private viewing and will remain in the Bunker Gallery until October 2021. The Bunker Gallery is open between 9am – 4pm Monday to Friday.
Mrs Shouksmith, Head of Art and Photography, praised the determination and resilience of the pupils saying, “All of our pupils should be immensely proud of their achievements. They remained creatively active and committed to their personal directions in art despite the unique challenges of multiple periods of online learning in a practical subject. Through their study of art, they have achieved more than being able to make beautiful artworks, they have learnt to become independent thinkers and creative problem solvers.”
Well done to all the pupils for completing such a high standard of artwork, and to the whole Art Department for all their hard work and support this year. Mrs Shouksmith would like to thank Art Technician Mr Bardell and Artist in Residence Miss Trussler for their work in putting the exhibition together.
