Welcome to Queen Mary House
Many children begin their Lower School journey at King Edward’s Witley in Year 7 enjoying the warmth and happiness of our dedicated Queen Mary House, fondly known as QMH, as their base.
QMH provides a safe, nurturing environment in which our youngest pupils build their early relationships and orient themselves to the school site. Headed by house parents who, along with a dedicated team of boarding staff, provide exceptional support and care from our very first moment meeting your child, we lay the foundations for kindness, confidence and achievement in school life and beyond.
So much more than just a place to be and at the heart of early school life at King Edward’s, QMH provides a home away from home where deep friendships are made, opportunities are explored and where each and every child is seen and feels valued for who they are.
Expanding horizons
In years 7 and 8 we encourage pupils to embrace a broad range of opportunities both in and out of the classroom, to build confidence in exploring and shaping their personal identity by building self-management skills and taking risks with their learning knowing that that they are in a positive and safe environment. We have found that this provides the best platform for creativity and future growth. Encouraged to work out what make them feel happy and motivated, our pupils develop a strong emotional connection with QMH, its staff and its pupils. They naturally connect with a positive sense of place rooted in kindness where they can flourish academically, socially and emotionally.
QMH provides a perfectly supported transition to the dynamic pace of Middle School life from year 9 – where they continue their exceptional educational and pastoral journeys.
A happy hub of opportunity, busting at the seams with the energy our youngest pupils beginning the task of discovering where life will take them.
