As our Lower 6th physicists have started the mechanics and electrical topics, it was a super time to visit the nearby Brooklands Museum of Aviation and Motorsport. Head of Physics, Mr Culbert, arranged the visit on their Autumn Motorsport Day which enabled the pupils to see a wide range of racing cars as well as aircraft, spanning many years of development. It was a great day that combined opportunities to see Physics principles used, as well as marvel at the technology on display (both static and live). The pupils were also lucky enough to have the additional benefit of Mrs Styles’ insight into aviation engineering, in particular the Concorde.
