How long have you worked at King Edward's Witley?
Where do you live and where were you born?
I live in West Horsley, I was born in Cambridge (my parents were undergraduates there).
What's your favourite thing about working at King Edward's Witley?
The very strong sense of community.
What are your hobbies?
Cycling, travelling in France and dog walking.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Be a Classics teacher (although I didn’t become one until I was 44!).
What is the funniest thing a pupil has ever said to you?
“Olive oil is sort of the Swiss Army knife of Mycenaean Greece isn’t it Sir?”
What's your favourite book/movie/song?
Movie – “A Very Long Engagement” set around the First World War, and Brittany, starring Audrey Tautou, as a young disabled woman searching relentlessly for her childhood sweetheart.
Book – “A Tale of Two Cities” by Charles Dickens, which is the only English novel I’ve read more than once.
Song – “All Blues” by Miles Davis.
On Wednesday, our pupils got stuck into a Gingerbread House Competition where their creativity and teamwork took centre stage. The afternoon ended with many impressive gingerbread masterpieces, including one of the front of our school! #BridewellFamily
