Friday Feature: Phoebe, QMH

13th October 2023

At the beginning of Summer, our wonderful Librarian, Mrs Harris, set our pupils some reading challenges. All 1st Form pupils were set the task of completing the Summer Reading Bingo Challenge where they had to tick off boxes by reading in different environments or different material. A 1st Form pupil Phoebe, won the challenge by ticking off all boxes to a very high standard. Well done Phoebe!

Where was your favourite place to read and why?

I like reading in my bedroom, because it is my own space and it is quiet.

What is your favourite book and why?

I like many books. But I particularly liked the Bluebell Gadsby Series by Natasha Farrant, because she writes so beautifully, and I feel that I am experiencing Bluebell’s troubles.

What was your favourite box to tick off and why?

I loved ticking off the ‘read in your favourite place’ box, because I could express who I was as well as getting to go in our pool!

If you could travel anywhere, real or fictional, where would you go and why?

Real. I would go to Japan because I love it’s food and culture, and I really want to see the cherry blossoms in Spring.

Fictional. I would be in the ‘Which way to Anywhere’  book, because if you have the map-making gift, you could go ANYWHERE of your own creation.

What is your favourite thing about reading?

My favourite thing about reading is imagining what it would be like to be in different character’s situations, thinking about what I would do differently.

What is your favourite thing about King Edward's Witley?

Everything! I chose it because it was such a caring school, and I felt like I would belong there.
