I joined King Edward’s Witley in 1986, entering Wakefield House, which at the time was under the stewardship of the inimitable Herbert Winter, followed by Richard Bird. I was at the school for five years, joining in the 3rd Form through to the Upper Sixth.
Joining KESW was transformative for me. Having arrived under quite sad circumstances, I grabbed the opportunities that school life offered with both hands, participating in as many activities and sports as I could, with mixed success!
The highlight for me was the wonderful people I met and special friends I made, many of whom I’m still in regular contact with. I was very fortunate that my opposite number, as Head Girl, was Kirstie Spence nee McAndrew, who provided the intelligence and an adeptness at public speaking to our double act!
Following KESW, I went off to Kingston University to read Economics, followed by an MA in Finance and Investment from Exeter University. For many years I worked in the City of London as an institutional energy broker, followed by relocating to Sydney, Australia, where I now work for a global investment management firm, looking after clients and finding new ones. I have an Australian wife and three children. Having picked up and played a lot of rugby post-school, I now enjoy watching sport and finding time to enjoy the great outdoors.
