The theme for Holocaust Memorial Day 2026 is ‘Bridging generations’.
With our Bridewell history rooted in diversity, compassion and mutual respect, we reflect on our place in the world today; how each of us has a role to play in remembering the atrocities of the past and in shaping ourselves and society to build a better future for all.

🇨🇱As part of our partnership with Ardmore, we recently welcomed visiting pupils from Cognita Chile to King Edward’s Witley. During their two week stay we were delighted to be able to offer an integrated KESW living and learning experience which immersed them in our house system and our warm culture of learning and care.
On their last day with us the pupils presented to their peers from King Edward’s sharing fascinating insights into their stay with us.
We wish them all well for the remainder of their time in the UK and look forward to staying in touch.

🇩🇪 A brilliant group of 3rd Form pupils at the beginning their German language journey at KESW recently attended an event hosted by The Goethe Institut London, the centre for German culture and language. Our pupils enjoyed a tour, presentations and an exciting workshop before competing against number of other schools in the ‘Library Hunt’. We were blown away by their focus and enthusiasm for the German language and are proud to share that one of the King Edward’s teams came first!
Our vibrant and dynamic Modern Foreign Language department offers GCSE and A-level courses in German, French and Spanish, and we encourage keen GCSE linguists to consider the possibility of taking two languages at GCSE. There has never been a better time for pupils’ to immerse themselves in learning a new language. In an increasingly globalised world, languages have become like currency or stock - the more you speak, the higher your value rises!

Following the incredible first rendition of his unique composition ‘the Old Earth’ at our carol services in December, we are proud to share that our exceptional King Edward’s Composer in Residence, Mr Eunseog Lee will be performing with East-West musical pioneers, Shui Mo Ensemble at the Bristol New Music this Saturday.
Made up of a group of dynamic young players on the UK scene, Shui Mo looks to create a new repertoire unbounded by eastern or western aesthetics, and to provide new palettes for transculturally-minded composers and musical innovators of the 21st century. If you are in Bristol this Saturday, head on over Bristol New Music - you’re in for a treat.
