🏄♀️ 🌊 Oh, we do like to be beside the sea side!
Our action packed Lower School activity week got off to a cracking start on Monday. A day filled with fun, collaboration, and stretch, our pupils took to the beaches of West Wittering for a good dollop of sun & surf with a side order of service!
The day included surfing, mega SUP, body boarding, beach volleyball and a beach clean up which the pupils undertook with great energy and positive spirits.

We are thrilled to share that International SeaKeepers Society UK have launched the International Junior SeaKeepers Programme (IJSK) with ten pupils and nine dedicated educators from King Edward’s Witley.
We enjoyed an excellent initial session with our pupils sharing their passions, interests and aspirations, followed by the SeaKeepers representatives sharing more information about the programme, highlighting the international communication, networking opportunities and professional development workshops that are available throughout this inaugural initiative.
The IJSK programme invites the pupils to create a Science Communication project to share a chosen aspect of marine research or ocean conservation with both local and international audiences.
We are very excited to see our KESW Junior Seakeepers grow throughout the programme and become future ocean stewards.
Global citizenship begins in Bridewell Schools, for the betterment of all.

🎭 Shakespeare and Cake! 🍰
Rehearsals are underway and we are poised to enjoy a fabulous Queen Mary House (Lower School) open air performance celebration of Shakespeare’s finest on the Head’s lawn next week.
Just one part of an activity week packed with fun and creativity, our year 7 and 8 pupils will spend a day baking delicious treats, diving into a stage combat workshop, and rehearsing for their very own Shakespeare Shorts performances. Every member of QMH will take to the stage for this joyful & delicious event.
A big old dollop of Cake & Culture… well, what’s not to love?!

Sports Day 2025 was nothing short of spectacular—brought our school community together for a full afternoon of energy, competition, and unforgettable spirit. Pupils from across the year groups took to the fields in full house colours, cheered on by peers, staff, and led with pride by their Housemasters.
From sprint finishes to high jumps, it was a day packed with healthy competition, camaraderie, laughter—and of course, ice creams in the sun.
At King Edward’s, we champion resilience, belonging, and the courage to try—values that shone through in every event and every pupil who stepped onto the track. This is what strength of character looks like, and we couldn’t be prouder.

In recent weeks, Charlie (Lower School- Queen Mary House) delivered a win at the Surrey Closed Judo Championships in Redhill, scooping up a bronze in the U55kg despite a tough category and considerable injury.
Showing great resilience, he then bounced back with an even stronger performance at the Surrey County Athletics Championships in Kingston, achieving personal bests and taking silver in shot put and bronze in discus. Congratulations, Charlie!
King Edward’s Witley is delighted to encourage and support the aspirations, endeavours and excellence of it’s pupils beyond the classroom - whether in sports, creative arts or in service to our communities, local and global.
