Sixth Form Options Evening

We would like to warmly welcome all parents and pupils to our virtual Sixth Form Options Evening today, 23rd September.

Our live Q&A will start at 18.30 on the live YouTube stream below and run for about half an hour. Your hosts will be Mr Richard Davies, Head of Sixth Form and IB Coordinator, Mrs Joanna Wright, Head, and Mrs Zeba Clarke, Deputy Head Academic. We would kindly ask that you can send your questions in to options@kesw.org in advance or during the live Q&A. Our hosts will of course try and answer all your questions in the time allotted, but if we run out of time please be rest assured that all questions will be followed up afterwards.

Please also use this page to view videos from each of our subject Head of Departments as well as information about their respective A-level and IB courses. We hope you enjoy the evening and that you will feel fully informed to make your choices for the Sixth Form.

“Welcome to our first Virtual Sixth Form Options Evening at King Edward’s. Below you can find short talks about our Academic Programmes (A-level and IB) from our Academic Deputy Head, Mrs Clarke, and the wider Sixth Form education from Mr Davies, Head of Sixth Form. In addition, you will be able to find short videos providing you with an insight into the subjects that we currently run at Sixth Form. It is a tremendously exciting time to lead King Edward’s as we innovate and adapt to the world around us. As well as introducing new subjects, expanding our A-level programme and developing our blended learning capabilities,  our dedicated new Upper Sixth Form House will be ready to take in our first pupils towards the end of 2021. The fantastic teaching and learning at King Edward’s, together with outstanding pastoral provision and a rich programme of extra-curricular activities, empowers our leavers to embark on the next stage of their learning journey at leading universities, such as Cambridge, LSE, UCL and Warwick, or pursue other opportunities such as apprenticeships.

As a School we have been united by diversity since 1553 and very much hope that the pages below will inspire you to play a part in the School’s continued success by choosing to complete your Sixth Form studies with us. I will be joining Mrs Clarke and Mr Davies to take any questions you may have at 18:30 on the Youtube live stream, and please do submit any questions that you may have to options@kesw.org”.
