We are pleased to share a recent article featured in the January edition of the Guildford Magazine.
Bridewell Royal Hospital’s Schools (King Edward’s Witley, Barrow Hills and Longacre) are places of purpose and belonging offering accessible and transformative all-through education for children from the ages of 2 to 18 years.
Our expert educators and pupils have joined forces with the ‘AI for Good ‘research teams at the University of Surrey and Royal Holloway, University of London to co-design a unique, safe and ethical Bridewell Al toolkit, which we explore in this article.
Using Bridewell AI, pupils are supported by teachers to be guided by both data and heart, developing seamless digital fluency and integrating human-centred, age appropriate Al practices which align with curriculum and prepare them for a future of learning with equity and empathy.

The recent production presenting excepts of Flesh by Rob Drummond was thought-provoking, unsettling, and resonant. Brilliantly directed by Nikki Plowman, our Director of Drama and presented in the round, 21 of our young actors took to the stage in a piece of theatre that stretched them creatively and technically.
A truly immersive experience for our audiences, this was an exceptional production that we will remember for some time to come.
Bravo, cast and crew and a huge thank you to all colleagues and friends of KESW Drama for your generous support, skill, patience and good humour.

A highlight of the King Edward’s and Barrow Hills Sporting calendar, this morning our year 7&8 pupils got stuck into our annual Turkey Trot! Two sports teachers, one dressed as a large inflatable turkey 🦃 and one as a Christmas cracker hotfooted it over the fields between the schools with pupils in hot pursuit. Then, the challenge of finding them hidden in the undergrowth… which proved surprisingly difficult in spite of the substantial outfits! Hot chocolate for all to wrap up a fun morning. What’s not to love? 🎄☕️ #bridewellschools #turkeytrot #christmastradition
The festive season is officially here at School! ✨
Elizabeth House triumphed in the inter-house Christmas Quiz, while our QMH Lower School pupils enjoyed their own internal festive quiz - proving that house spirit shines at every level.
Hampers brimming with board games, popcorn, hot chocolate, candy sticks, Christmas coins, baubles, and gingerbread houses added the perfect seasonal touch for our winners. 🎄
