The sports programme at King Edward’s is extensive. Our core sports – cricket, football, hockey, and netball – each have a dedicated Head in addition to our Director of Sport and Head of Girls’ Games. Building confidence and character beyond the classroom, at King Edward’s the Duke of Edinburgh is more than just an outdoor expedition, it is a transformative experience that fosters independence, teamwork, and resilience in our pupils. For our 3rd Form, the qualifying expedition is a much-anticipated milestone in their co-curricular journey.
This year, teams were guided and encouraged by Upper Sixth student Oliver, a natural leader and former Head Boy, whose experience and enthusiasm brought both confidence and motivation to the groups. Supported by Mr Emsley and dedicated staff, the pupils tackled their challenge with determination, developing skills that will serve them far beyond the school gates.
