Job Description

Nursery Practitioner, Early Years

Full-time (Fixed term contract)

Required ASAP

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our friendly and experienced Nursery team. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding individual to inspire our wonderful 2 to 3 year-olds within a fantastic and beautiful rural setting.

The Early Years framework is the basis for all our teaching and learning and our team ensure that good foundations are laid in Nursery, Kindy, and Reception. The learning journey begins in Nursery where our youngest children learn to share and socialise with others prior to moving on to Kindy. Our small sized classes are led by excellent practitioners allowing children to progress and be supported so that they become confident in their work and personal development.

To be successful in this role, you will have a flair for imaginary play time and enjoy eating the carefully crafted Play-Doh cupcakes on offer, as you support the Nursery arts and crafts activities.  You will be able to demonstrate true enthusiasm for the care and education of young children as well as the ability to work as part of a small team, and of course you must be prepared to have fun.  Your responsibilities will include keeping tally of small but quick moving children, as well as being prepared for outdoor activities, come rain (typically) or shine.

Barrow Hills is a co-ed 2-13 years prep school, offering academic success within a balanced and generous education. We have a strong ethos built on our values of compassion, curiosity and connection, and we are proud to be widely recognised as a welcoming community with a warm, family atmosphere.

Our Barrow Hills family also has the unique advantage of governance by the Bridewell Royal Hospital Foundation and close affiliation with our partner school, Kings Edward’s Witley. We benefit from centuries of charitable history, links to the City of London and the generous shared resource an independent senior school provides.

Our aim at Barrow Hills is to inspire happy children.

Children at Barrow Hills are growing to be… Curious about everything; and Brave when meeting new challenges. Scholarly in the way that they learn and in their love of learning. Compassionate towards others, in the School and in the wider world. Generous of spirit, and in sharing their time and their gifts; and Joyful in their appreciation of their families, their friendships, their School and the world. Truthful and true to themselves, and Responsible in what they say and in what they do.

As well as a fun and interesting group of children to motivate and inspire, we can offer job satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment, pension scheme, cycle to work scheme, free car parking and all meals during term time.

If you feel you have the necessary skills and experience, to bring to our wonderful team, then we would love to hear from you.
