Rain disrupts girls cricket tournament

16th May 2022

It was all set to be a fantastic day of girl’s cricket, with King Edward’s Witley all ready to host a U13 softball cricket tournament. However, the weather had different ideas and the heavens opened minutes before play commenced. A quick decision was made and the girls instead headed to the sports hall for an indoor tournament.

Whilst the girls were not prepared for this, a magnificent performance was displayed by all schools taking part: St Catherine’s, Tormead, Prior’s Field and our own girls at King Edward’s. A standout performance came from our young cricket star, April, who batted excellently. Although our girls were not victorious, they showed development in their communication skills which will be beneficial for future fixtures. It was an energetic fielding display with some outstanding catches, resulting in a great tournament for all those involved.

Well done everyone!
