U13As run rampant in cricket fixtures

The team of the week this week could have gone to several sides.  However, the standout performances, after much deliberation, came from the Under 13A boys cricket team who had an excellent week with two brilliant victories.

Last Wednesday, we travelled to Feltonfleet School looking for revenge after they narrowly defeated us in the Surrey Schools Cup earlier in term. Will got us off to a great start hitting 39 runs, with Tom and Lachlan continuing to score freely thereafter. Lachlan hit three big sixes, before he was out for 40.  We then bowled and fielded excellently with a notable wicket coming from Dexter bowling out their top batsman, and Tom and Oscar also taking 2 wickets apiece. Feltonfleet could only reach 134-9 in response to our score and we won the match by 12 runs.

We then followed up our magnificent result on Saturday when we hosted Whitgift School. Again, we won the toss and chose to bat first. Will was outstanding as he batted the entire innings scoring 67 not out. He hit some brilliant shots throughout and was ably supported by all his teammates as we ran positively between the stumps. We finished on 135-3 after our 20 overs which was a great effort.  Again, we were brilliant with the ball but our fielding was particularly noteworthy. Oscar, Noah and Will all managed to run out a Whitgift batsman.  Whitgift put up a valiant effort, but we won the game by 26 runs to round off a superb week of cricket.
