14th October 2022
On Admissions Day, we were honoured to welcome Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Gloucester, alongside the Alderman Sir Peter Estlin and Treasurer Justine Voisin,
to preside over the ancient ceremony. This is a special moment for the 144 new pupils at King Edward’s, and 30 from our partner Prep School, Barrow Hills, as they follow the tradition of so many before them, promising to strive for excellence and uphold the traditions of the school. The choir treated the congregation of new pupils and their families to a stunning performance of Parry’s ‘I am Glad’ and listened to a moving sermon from the Bishop of Dorking, Right Revd Dr Jo Bailey Wells. The ceremony was followed by a lunch for all participants, which rounded off what had been a fabulous day for the King Edward’s community.
