Golf

16th December 2022

The breakthrough team of the year is the golf team who for the first time in KESW history, have entered national competitions in scratch, handicap and knockout competitions. Early in the year, the side, led by captain Josh Cook, took the golf course in the ISGA South East Championships in Maidstone, Kent. The side took second place net with Hugh Morrison taking the individual net silver medal. A fantastic start.

Later in the term, we faced Seaford in the scratch ISGA knockout at Milford Golf Club. It was a desperately tight affair with the side losing out by a score line of just 2-1 against an experienced outfit. We have also played another match versus Lancing which resulted in a similarly tight result. We look forward to the summer term when more competitions arrive our as well as looking to involve many of our beginner golfers who are currently taking lessons during Activities at Old Thorns Golf Club in some friendly fixtures locally.
