A short read that highlights the very many strengths of our School, our pupil voice is reflected throughout along with parental and reviewer reflections on all areas of our educational and pastoral offering.
The independent review describes our School as ‘a broad church in terms of sports, arts and academics - ‘with something for everyone’, reflecting varied pupil journeys tailored to individual needs, strengths and personalities.

On Tuesday evening we were delighted to welcome members of our School community along with many new guests who came from far and wide to share an inspirational musical evening with organist extraordinaire, Roger Sayer in the chapel at King Edward’s Witley. As the original Interstellar organist put heart and soul in to his performance, our illuminated organ truly sang out. The Interstellar film score as well as Holst’s ‘Planet Suite’ filled the chapel and took us on an incredible musical journey accompanied by powerful video excerpts from the movie and approach/lander missions to Jupiter, Venus and Mars.
A humorous and humble storyteller, Roger shared his extraordinary experience of being personally selected by Hans Zimmer to play the Interstellar score - stories which held us all completely captivated. With huge generosity, Roger stayed after his performance to talk with many organ and Interstellar enthusiasts who queued with excitement to ask their questions and share a moment with him.
A huge thank you to Roger and to all who joined us for another superb evening of music at King Edward’s - one which truly reminded us of the power of music and what it is to feel unified through our shared experiences of it.

Tomorrow! ✨
INTERSTELLAR 10 comes to KING EDWARD`S, WITLEY!
Virtuosic and versatile, international organ star ROGER SAYER was chosen by composer HANS ZIMMER to create the prominent organ role for CHRISTOPHER NOLAN`s blockbusting film INTERSTELLAR. Since the release of the movie 10 years ago, the music from Interstellar
has developed a huge following, introducing the organ to many audiences for the first time.
Interstellar 10 follows the drama and intense emotions of the story line interweaving the main themes from the movie including Cornfield Chase, Stay, and No Time for Caution in one continuous captivating performance.
We are absolutely thrilled to be part of Roger Sayer`s acclaimed GLOBAL TOUR with a one night only experience where Roger will share his experience of working with Zimmer and Nolan before playing his own unique and extraordinary version of the Interstellar
soundtrack.

Today marks the 80th anniversary of VE Day - an important occasion to celebrate the freedoms fought for on our behalf and to remember the sacrifices made.
A great many schools were committed to the high service of our nation during World War II, but King Edward`s Witley perhaps paid more than most, not only through tragic loss of life but also the requisitioning of its school buildings by the Admiralty.
Renamed HMS Mercury, our school site was used as a base to develop naval radar. Some say the `Battle of the Atlantic` and other operations were won over the playing fields of Witley.
In moments of reflection, we were grateful to Christopher Hudson (OW 1958) for a commemorative flyby to honour those who served.
We were also delighted to welcome residents from Surrey Heights care centre and Surrey Hills nursing centre for an afternoon tea, joined by Chris and Margaret Ensor née Hill (OW 1959).
As a whole community, we will never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Enormous thanks to Christopher Hudson (OW 1958) who took to the skies and flew over our school in a commemorative flyby to mark #VEDay80 — in honour of all those who lost their lives. We are forever in their debt.
