British Biology Olympiad Success 🧫🧬🧪
An excellent recent performance by KESW in the British Biology Olympiad. In an extremely challenging competition designed to stretch pre-university students well beyond A Level standard through evaluating advanced problem-solving, Leonor and Anais (both Lower 6th) received a high commendation and a silver award respectively; we are proud to share that this places Anais in the top 15% of entrants nationally in this competition. Congratulations to both! 💫

As the weather has warmed, our grounds have been busy with activity. On the QMH lawn, First Form pupils have been testing catapults they designed and built themselves in our Design Technology facilities - applying creativity, precision and problem-solving beyond the classroom. Practical learning, collaboration and a healthy degree of trial and error, all brought outdoors.

A very busy weekend out and about for our pupils and staff! Thank you to everyone who visited us and @barrowhillsschool at @chiddstock and made their own smoothies on Saturday whilst New Horizon delighted the crowds with our own Alexandrina on bass & Harry on drums and to Go Godalming for facilitating an excellent interval performance by our band during The Friary Band’s concert at the bandstand on Sunday. Excellent to be making music and supporting our local communities! #keswmusic #localcommunity
Our Interview Experience Day provided pupils with invaluable opportunities to develop confidence, communication skills and self-belief in a professional setting.
Feedback from our volunteer parents was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the warmth, confidence and excellent preparation shown by our pupils, describing the event as “super organised”, “very slick” and “a pleasure to be part of”.
Most importantly, pupils left the experience having developed a deeper understanding of how to present themselves authentically, prepare thoroughly and communicate with confidence under pressure. Reflections included learning the importance of research, body language, resilience and believing in their own strengths.
At King Edward’s Witley, we are committed to nurturing young people who are not only academically ambitious, but equipped with the human skills, confidence and self-awareness to thrive beyond school life.

We are proud of our pupils’ diverse aspirations, and their onward journeys from our school reflect their ambition.
Sixth Formers at King Edward’s benefit from a comprehensive higher education and counselling programme, including a bespoke Early Applications Programme for students aiming for Oxbridge, medicine, dentistry and veterinary courses at university.
Our extensive 1:1 support and guidance, helps pupils navigate their aspirations, whether that involves applying to a selective UK or, increasingly, an international university, pursuing an apprenticeship, entering a school-leaver program, or planning a gap year.
Our pupils are encouraged to explore the widest range of higher education disciplines and their inquisitive approach is reflected in the breadth of programmes our leavers enjoy.

This week our Charities Committee celebrated with Maisy from Upper 6th after she received the Runner-Up award from the Mayor of Godalming in Rotary’s Young Citizen of the Year competition.
Our younger pupils enjoyed being inspired by Maisy’s five years of service on the Committee during her last meeting.
Congratulations, Maisy, you’ll be missed!
