Sir Nicholas has worked in the City of London for over 40 years, in investment banking and insurance, since 2003 sitting on the boards of a large number of financial services companies, currently as Chair at the Phoenix Group, and as a Non-Executive Director of Convex Group Limited. He is a founding member of the Capital Markets Industry Taskforce. He held the position of The Rt. Hon. The Lord Mayor of London from November 2022 to November 2023. He was knighted in the King’s Birthday Honours in 2024 for services to the financial sector, the growth economy and financial literacy.
Sir Nicholas is an Alderman in the City of London. He is also a member of the Leadership Council of the International Business and Diplomatic Exchange, the Advisory Board of The City UK, and is a Lieutenant of the City of London. He is a Governor of King’s School Canterbury, St Dunstan’s College Catford, and St Columba’s College Dublin. He is an Honorary Visiting Professor of City St George’s University London.
