Our Chaplain plays a key role in the overarching pastoral support network available to every member of our community, as a spiritual counsellor and in delivering our Chapel services.
The Chapel and the Chaplain support and direct school life by means of three weekly Chapel services and, on our special occasions, by the pageantry and dignity which come from our heritage in the City of London. The school motto “A place to lodge Christ in” places spirituality at the heart of the community; we welcome pupils of all faiths and none.
The chapel is at the heart of the School’s life in every sense. Its Decorated Gothic architecture, beautiful stained-glass windows, wood panelling and “Father” Willis organ mean that services are always a delight for the senses.
The School’s Christian Union caters for a more contemporary style of worship and is available as a pupil activity.
Chapel Services are held every Sunday at 10.30am or 7.15pm which all boarders partake in. Day pupils, parents and staff are welcome to join the Chapel services.
Albert Edwin Mawer died peacefully at home on Monday 23rd of March, in the care of his beloved wife, Rosemary.
