Bridewell Foundation

What is the Bridewell Foundation?

An education at King Edward’s Witley is distinctive in that it considers all aspects of a child’s needs, from the academic, to pastoral care, from sporting success to self-expression through art, drama and music. We are able to provide this on a beautiful, large campus in the Surrey countryside.

We have a long tradition of philanthropy to the Bridewell Foundation which supports King Edward’s and we are very grateful to our Old Witleians, parents, staff, City Livery Companies, Charitable Trusts and companies for their support, which has enabled us to provide the high standard of education pupils enjoy today.

Going forward, we need to update and modernise some of our buildings and facilities for the benefit of pupils now and in the future.  To do this, we are seeking additional philanthropic support from our friends to improve four key departments – drama, sports, music and business.   Alongside our plans for the campus and true to our founding mission, we continue to seek new support for bursaries to help children in need of a boarding school education.

Many people will ask ‘why now?’ and the answer is simply that we need to move with the times and create modern, purpose built facilities to offer the very best experience for our pupils and visitors to the School, which we cannot do on our current income alone.

We hope that you will join us in achieving our ambitions.
