An identity all of its own, the Lower School prepares pupils for the larger community at King Edward's

The Lower School is for girls and boys in Forms One and Two (ages 11 to 13).

Smaller year groups and a distinct identity, but with full access to all the School's facilities, give pupils the best of both worlds, and help prepare them for the transition to the Senior Houses in the Third Form. The boys board in the Victorian splendour of Queen Mary House and the girls in Copeland House in the School's Main Building. Day pupils and boarders are all fully integrated into the life of the houses with a comprehensive induction, and flexi-boarding is a popular option.

Instead of Saturday morning lessons, the Lower School has a programme of exciting activities for boarders, and day pupils may also opt to attend. Additionally, there are a wide range of social events to enjoy throughout the year which are tailored to this age group. These include camping, cinema, laser-quest, talent shows, movie nights, theme parks, assault courses, personal development, crafts, inter-house competitions and much more!
