Reaching great heights
girls_climbing_web_1
Climbing has always featured in the co-curricular at King Edward's and continues to be a very popular activity for pupils.

Since 1996, the School has had its own outdoor climbing wall, allowing the bouldering, climbing, and leading skills to be taught by qualified King Edward's staff. This has proven to be good preparation for climbing trips to Wales, Scotland and the Peak District.

The versatility of the wall (7.5 m tall, with slabs, flakes, chimney, edges etc.) allows for progression of skills and pupils of all abilities can find challenging routes to work on, while continually developing their skills and fitness, warmed by the summer sun on the south-facing wall.
